"He's a strategizer," Shawn said.
"It's not the fact that he wants to beat people up and hurt people. |
So his plan is to demoralize his own people, weaken them and make it impossible for them to win any challenge. Then, pick off each one until he stands alone at the merge. Did I miss anything? Where is the stratagy? How is it supposed to work after the merge when he is on the short end of the numbers game? Does he think he can walk into a group who has already built known allies and play the same game? If he had played this card AFTER the merge I can understand the thinking. Coach did something along those lines last season but allowed his ego to cloud his decisions in the end. But as it stands Russell is a dope who is doing nothing but digging his own grave. When Sun Tzu said Divide and Conquare he meant the enemy, not your own troops. You don't weaken and demoralize your own people while allowing the other side to grow in strength. Nor is it entertaining. I don't mind strong minded players who use others as pawns as long as there is a point to it. It's good gamesmanship if used properly. In his case there is none. It's done for no other reason then to stroke his own ego and nothing more. Until the merge this is a team game and has to be played as such.
