Spoilers are out for tonight's show! (The semis are always pre-taped; show doesn't go live until the final 12 performances.) Here's what's going around so far:First of the night is Mandisa. I couldn't find out what song she sang, maybe I missed it. The reports say she does a decent job, but that she's nervous and she gets a little "pitchy". Not the worst of the night, but somewhere in the lower middle range. The rest of the order isn't listed, but the reports are that Katherine goes last, and totally knocks it out of the park. She sings Since I Fell For You, a Barbara Striesand song. Simon tells her she's the best of the night, etc... gets major love from the judges. Stevie Scott sings To Where You Are, not sure who it's by. I read two reviews on her performance and both say she does a terrible job with the song. She sings very high, and is completely off pitch throughout. She's not well-known to the viewers, having received very little airtime so far, and so the bets are on her for getting the boot this week. Paris Bennett sings Midnight Train To Georgia. She does an excellent job, and gets good reviews from the judges. This is to be expected. She's one of the favorites in this competition. Lisa Tucker turns out to be a surprise favorite of the night, and wows Simon with her control and maturity - she's 16. She sings I'm Changing by Jennifer Holiday. Kellie Pickler sings a country song by Martina McBride, and does a decent job. She gets a little pitchy in the higher notes, but overall holds it together well. Judges like her. Heather Cox - When You Tell Me That You Love Me. Safe and forgetable. No WOW factor at all. Becky O'Donohue sings 10,000 Maniacs Because The Night and does a very good job with this song. It suits her voice and the judges like the fact that she chooses a song well-suited for herself. Ayla Brown sings a Christina song, not sure which. She doesn't completely suck, but the song was too much for her to handle. Judges weren't impressed. Brenna Gethers. I hate this girl already. She sings You Are The Sunshine Of My Life. She's supposedly a huge ham for the cameras, as if we hadn't already seen evidence of this! She's annoying and full of herself. The song? Yeah, it wasn't great either. Kinnik - Get Here by Oleta Adams. Simon breaks out the "cabaret" critique for her. Poor girl. Supposedly it really wasn't all that bad. Melissa McGhee sings When the Lights Go Down by Faith Hill, and is again told she's got no "wow" factor to her. She has a good voice, but she's bland and boring, no stage presense. This airs tonight on FOX. 2hr long show... I'm looking for the boys' spoilers today! Will post as soon as I get any! |

| Hmmm. There have been very few spoilers making it to the boards for the boys' results for some reason. TPTB are keeping it under wraps. Ran into the same problem for the performance spoilers, too. What I have seen posted, by an unverified source, is that Heather Cox has received the lowest number of votes for the girls. Actually, there's an entire list of the supposed rankings floating around. Here's a link to it. We'll just have to wait and see how accurate this proves to be. If I run across any other info, I'll be sure to get it posted here. Everyone else reading this - you guys do the same!! Join in and post here! |

| They're taping the girls' performances today... should have a few reliable spoilers by morning, at the latest. The only few tidbits I've run across so far seem more like speculation than spoilers, and only involve song choice. I've seen it posted elsewhere that Ace is singing "If You're Not the One" by Daniel Bedingfield. I had no clue what this song was, so I googled it. Hmmm. Not sure how I feel about him singing that one. Could be good, I guess, since it should suit his voice and style, but I'm just not that much of a fan of the song itself. Ayla Brown supposedly sings a Celine Dion song. This worries me. She doesn't seem to have a strong enough voice to carry that off. Could be a trainwreck. Will Makar may be singing "Lady" by Lionel Richie. That has potential. David Radford's song is "The Way You Look Tonight" which also has potential, but I see it coming across badly if that's really what he sings. He really needs to step outside his box and stop with the affected voice. He probably has a nice regular voice, when he's not trying to make it all "croony". Taylor Hicks has several supposed song choices floating around, so I'll wait to see if I run across anything more reliable before I post. Bucky Covington - Garth Brooks, When the Thunder Rolls. I hate Garth Brooks. He's from my state and my very best friend in the whole world is friends with several of his bandmates. Still... I hate Garth Brooks. So, sorry Bucky. You could knock this one out of the park and I'd still hate it. That's all so far. Not much, I know, but I take what I can get. ![]() |

| I have been seriously bummed about the lack of spoilers so far this season! I run across the occasional speculation, which more often than not turns out to be false, but true spoilers? Few and far between. However... there's been a leak on the boys' song choices! Yippee! Will Makar - "How Sweet It Is" by James Taylor Taylor Hicks - "Taking It To the Streets" by Michael McDonald Gedeon McKinney - "When a Man Loves a Woman" by Percy Sledge Kevin Covais - "Vincent" by Don McClean Chris Daughtry - "Broken" by Seether Ace Young - "Butterfly" by Michael Jackson Elliott Yamin - "Heaven" by Bryan Adams Yes, I realize Bucky's not listed. I don't yet know what song he's singing, but if I find out later, I'll be sure to post. What do you think? I can't believe Kevin is doing Vincent. The great CLAY couldn't even make that one worthwhile. He's cut his own throat with song choice. And I'm a bit scared to see what Ace does with MJ. It could be disastrous. I can't place Chris or Elliott's songs - off to find clips to refresh my memory! |

| This is more speculation than spoiler, but Nigel was on Good Day LA and he says there will be a SHOCKER elimination tomorrow with the girls. What do you think? Anyone want to venture a guess as to who the "shocking" elim will be? |

| Dialidol.com - a sort of new site that is using confusing math to predict the eliminations based on percentages of votes going through verses number of times attempted. Go there and read how they do it. First and foremost - it's not scientific. Maybe it's telling in one way, but it's no sure thing. Anyway... they've got these totals posted for last night's show: 1 Taylor Hicks 53.9734 - 2 Kellie Pickler 52.4967 - 3 Chris Daughtry 49.7977 - 4 Mandisa 49.3474 - 5 Ace Young 35.769 - 6 Katharine McPhee 33.0961 - 7 Paris Bennett 31.7413 - 8 Kevin Covais 23.8291 - 9 Bucky Covington 23.2832 - 10 Lisa Tucker 21.124 - 11 Elliott Yamin 13.1646 - Which means Elliott's going home tonight. Again, I stress that these "predictions" are not true spoilers - but with the lack of any leaks at all this season, I'll take it! I hope this is wrong. That is all I can say. | Spoilers rounded up from across the web: Elliott gets the closing spot tonight, and is supposedly singing a song by Gavin Degraw. Speculation is either ìChariotî or ìI Donít Wanna Beî. Hmmm. Could be good, but could beÖ not so much. Ace is going third and is singing ìDrops of Jupiterî by Train. I love this song, and hope he does well with it, but the choice really surprises me. Doesnít seem like an Ace sort of song. I guess weíll seeÖ Both Kellie and Bucky, naturally, are going country. Buckyís supposed to break out the black cowboy hat and everything. No song choice spoilers for Bucky, but the rumors are that Kellie is singing ìKeroseneî. Who sings that? Not familiar to me by song title, but maybe when I hear it Iíll recognize it. Chris. Yeah, heís supposedly singing ìWhat Ifî by Creed. Once again, when it comes to the "golden child" sparks are a'flyin'! Thereís already a huge debate going on about whether or not this song choice would be ìfairî. The CD this song comes from was released in 1998 or 1999, so it doesnít exactly qualify for the theme of the week, but then again, if the single release date was in 2000, then it could pass. But if you want to get technical, the 21st Century didn't start until 2001. Um, yeah. So, they're stretching the rules a bit for him. But we don't know if he's the only one they'll be stretching for. If so, then I call foul. If not, let it go. It's still another song completely in his comfort zone. Okay ñ not much else other than speculation floating around for the other contestants. Weíll just have to watch and see if any of this is right! |

| Well... The two spoilerish sites for AI results totals have these five in jeopardy: Ace, Bucky, Lisa, Mandisa, and Katharine. Actually, Paris polled pretty low, too. The top three on all sites I've seen are Taylor, Kellie, and Chris. Elliott is slowly but surely moving up the pack, though. I still think the three to hit the seal will be Ace, Lisa, and Bucky, with Lisa going home. Anyone know if Nigel or Simon went on air this morning in LA with any teasers? There was no mention of a "shocking" elimination tonight, was there? |
