Hollywood Finalists

I'm really glad we're through with the audition rounds this season. I'm finding myself pretty bored with them this year. I am, however, looking forward to the rest of the season. Got some comparin' to do... fell head over knickers for RockStar this past summer, and now I fear that poor little American Idol will never live up...

So, who are everyone's favorites, and are there any cuts in Hollywood that surprise you? Who's your least favorite? Why?

So far this year I like too many of the girls to mention (so many GREAT voices) and I like Ace Young -mostly because he's really hot!- and Taylor Hicks. I was really disappointed that the rehabilitation worker chick from the Boston auditions didn't make the Hollywood cut. I really liked her. I was also surprised that RJ from Austin didn't make it. I know he was a jerk but he did have a really nice voice. I absolutely cannot believe that little cowboy dude even made it to Hollywood. Seems like a sweet kid but really did not get that at all. AND I really hated that those nagging twins who are in jail right now made it thru the first round. I really can't stand them.

I also LOVED RockStar INXS last summer. I was actually rooting for JD all the way only because he reminded me of the original singer. I wonder if they are going to do RockStar again and if so, what band might it be for? I'm hoping Van Halen! (hasn't been the same since David Lee Roth!!!)

They are doing a second season of RockStar - the applications/auditions were posted a while back, and I believe auditions start in March. As far as I know, they haven't named a band yet, but there was actually speculation that it would be Van Halen, and that INXS are going to continue to have a hand in the show somehow. (Okay - I admit, JD wasn't my favorite at all while on the show, but I have to give some love, because he sounds awesome on the new CD. And he does have a certain appeal... )

My favorite was obviously MiG, but I also loved me some Marty... *sigh* He had awesome teeth.

As for AI - I'm just sort of waiting to see what happens. I'm looking forward to seeing how Paris Bennet and Taylor Hicks do.

Awww. The "Crying Cowboy" got cut. I'm actually pretty glad I don't have to listen to his whiny, squeaky voice anymore. But it was sad, nonetheless. And those twins? The Brittenum boys? I'll be so glad when they leave this competition for good. That whole little bit of drama last night made me sick. If you walk out, you should be out. Period. No begging to get back in. Total tools. Paris wasn't all that great, and neither were any of the baby "crooners", but I still love William Makar. And we missed Taylor's audition all because of the stupid twins. Seriously? Devote 15-20 miniutes to the two felons of the season, who are now sitting in jail, but don't show us the talent we want to see? Smart, AI, smart.

Tonight we see who gets through. Then, it's all up to the voters. Of which I am not a member. I'm an armchair critic, and an online message board addict, but I never vote. Well, there was that one time, back in season two... but that was CLAY, so seriously, it doesn't count.
