I agree with your bottom three picks. Lisa had the disadvantage of going first, and then the song selection... you just do not sing a previous Idol winner's song unless you can totally nail it, and she didn't. It wasn't awful, but it didn't wow me. So with those things in mind, I think she's out tonight.
Ace's little stunt with the shirt-pulling and hand-reaching really didn't do anything for me this week. He's relying on gimmicks and sex appeal to keep him in this rather than backing up a pretty face with some pretty vocals. I'm sort of losing the burning lust for him, which seems wrong somehow, but true nonetheless. I'm ready for him to go so I can get down to business supporting Elliott and Mandisa. (By the by, she completely underwhelmed me last night. Didn't care for the song, and she went all sharp and screamy during most of it...)
And was anyone else laughing when RyRy had to rescue Chris with the whole arrangement-credit issue from last week's song? It really ticked off a lot of people around the boards that he didn't credit Live for his "Walk the Line" arrangement, so the powers that be had to jump in and save face... And Simon backtracked big time, telling him he can't keep doing the same thing week after week. Now didn't Simon tell him last week how pleased he was that Chris wasn't comprimising himself? Hmmm. Interesting. |
