Week 8 Performances (8/30)

Great show!! I thought everyone did a decent job, but I definitely have my B3 assigned...

First - Brooke Burke, what made you think white gogo boots would be the perfect way to top off that horrid ensemble? She's made some questionable fashion choices in the past, but this one just takes the cake.

Ty. Well, I thought he did a pretty good job. Not sure about the choir, though. Seemed not quite right, to me. He wasn't all over the place on stage, and his vocals were strong and spot on, but something was missing. Not sure what, just that little extra something that makes a good performance great. Not there for me. I say B3 for sure, and he'll probably get the boot.

JD. Geez, I actually thought this was one of his better vocal performances, but I just do not like this guy. What is wrong with him? Seriously, something seems way off-kilter in JD's world. I also fear for the safety of some poor Canadian restaraunt goers when he gets kicked off - he's the sort I can see having a total mental breakdown and taking hostages. But his song wasn't bad. In fact I've got him in my TOP 3, which is a big shocker, really. Normally I hate the guy.

Marty. Sweet Jeebus, that was awesome! I love the "softer" side of Marty's voice and his version of Wish You Were Here is one of my favorites of the entire season so far. The only thing I can complain about, at least complain with reason about, is his hair. That overly processed 'do wasn't cutting it for me. Like it a little sloppier, which may be why I thought...

...MiG looked so hot tonight. His song choice wasn't the best suited to his voice, and he had some major pitch and tone issues going on. While he has been my favorite throughout the competition, this was my very least favorite of the night. Even worse than JD for me. Having said that, I'd still like to see him make it to the final three. And I must give him kudos for that super-long glory note at the end.

I used to like Jordis. Now I don't. It has nothing to do with her song or even her performance. It's that she doesn't seem to really "feel" the music and I tend to like my rockstars a little more emotionally tied to the song they are singing. She does have a very lovely voice, but I am done with her.

And last of all, Miss Suzie MF McNeal. Truth? I liked it. A LOT. But I did hear several pitch problems and I was slightly dazzled by the crazy-eye she brought out in the intense moments of the second half. She's casting a spell on us all: Vote For Suzie! Save Suzie! Suzie Deserves To Win! Best of the night? No, but a close second to Marty. I'd love to see her get the encore, if they even have an encore this week. Since all of the remaining six have had the encore performances, I bet they change things up. Maybe they'll all get to sing INXS? I don't know.

So my personal ranking for last night only was as follows: 1) Marty; 2) Suzie; 3) JD; 4) Ty; 5) Jordis; 6) MiG

Overall ranking is a little different: 1) MiG (tied with) 2) Marty; 3) Suzie; 4) Ty; 5) Jordis; 6) JD

If I were a bettin' woman, I'd say Ty is outta here tonight, though I'd much prefer to see JD go home first.

Oops, I should have read this before posting my thread about who's going home!! But yes, it probably will be Ty. I've been right-on the last 3 eliminations. Well they WERE rather obvious...

Personally, I thought JD's performance sucked. Just like all the others of his. HE sucks, I just don't feel him at all and I don't see why the women do. My best performance list:

1.Suzie
2.Marty & 3.Ty (tie)
4.Mig
5.Jordis
6.JD

As far as quality of performance and vocals, this is my opinion. As far as being right for INXS, Top 3 are Mig, Marty, & Suzie.

Oh yeah, and if Marty is in the bottom 3 again, I am gonna be PISSED.
