Default Survivor recaps at channelguidemagblog.com

Hi! I write Survivor recaps for Channel Guide, a monthly entertainment magazine that contains articles and grid listings on what's on TV. For a while, I've been coming to survivor.com after I post my recaps, just to see how the episode looked through other recappers' eyes -- did I miss anything? Do I love someone others hate? Did anyone else call joy-deprived GC "G-Fizzle"? Things like that.

So if y'all are looking for yet another recap, feel free to check mine out every week on the Channel Guide blog . Here's the first line from last night's recap:

Sugar returns from Exile and joins the Fang tribe and her buddy Ace, who tells the camera he’s got Sugar in his pocket (which, I’ve been told, can lead to ants in your pants).

Hi! The recap from the Oct. 23 episode has been posted:

Ace ponders which member of the old Fang tribe could be a Benedict Arnold to help keep him around. Matty sees himself as being in a bad position and is eager to agree to the first logical plan anyone presents to him. Just like the magical moment when chocolate met peanut butter and begat Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (not really, but I’m trying to make this more interesting than it was), Ace and Matty join forces and agree to protect each other until the merge, sealing the deal with swearing on their loved ones ...

The recap from the Oct. 30 episode has been posted on the Channel Guide website. Here's a few paragraphs:

The Fang tribe is surviving on a few spoonfuls of rice each day, and when Crystal accidentally spills some, Matty and Ace say nothing, but Crystal’s still upset because they looked unhappy. Crystal then refuses to eat, since she doesn’t want to take food away from the others, but she later says that Ace could’ve saved her some rice if he cared about her. Ace tells the camera that he sees Crystal as “the next lamb to the slaughter,” but he doesn’t have a good track record when it comes to lamb-slaughter predictions: When he said that about the Kelly lamb, the Jacquie lamb was slaughtered.

Over on Kota, Dan doesn’t like how tight Charlie, Marcus and Corinne are, and he talks with Marcus and Corinne about being an outsider. Dan feels better after their little chat, not knowing that Corinne came away from the conversation thinking “Dan is socially inept in a lot of ways — I don’t know if he’s a former fatty, or why he wasn’t liked as a child” and that Marcus sees Dan as “the ultimate paranoid human being.” (I wonder if Dan watched Marcus’ comments on TV and said, “Well, I am NOW.”)

The recap from the Nov. 6 episode has been posted on the Channel Guide website. Here's an excerpt:

Crystal's not happy with Marcus' plan to get rid of her biggest ally. She says that while she's playing nice, she's a liar and a schemer — "The game is 'outwit, outlast.' You can't outwit Crystal Cox, baby." (The unspoken second half of her sentence is "But you sure as heck can outlast her.")

The recap from the Nov. 13 episode has been posted on the Channel Guide website. Here's an excerpt:

Sugar tells Corinne she can’t live with Randy anymore, and Corinne empathizes. Or pretends to — she tells the camera, “Not only do I have to act interested in what Sugar’s saying, but I have to act like I care about her.” Corinne and Charlie tell Sugar they can get rid of Randy with the next vote, after they get rid of Crystal. Sugar doesn’t really commit one way or the other, but Corinne thinks she bought the sales pitch, and that she’s “weak, naive, gullible” and “such a moron” for doing so. (Is there anyone Corinne doesn’t think is a moron? Could you just subtitle the White Pages of any city “People Corinne Thinks Are Morons,” and it’d be pretty accurate?)

The recap from the Nov. 20 episode has now been posted on the Channel Guide website. Here's an excerpt:

Finally! One of those Survivor episodes you’ll remember beyond this season. A year from now, you’ll still have the conversation:

“Remember the one where Bob gave Randy his fake idol?”
“Aw, yeah — that was classic!”
“It wasn’t really necessary, since Randy was going to be kicked off anyway.”
“True, that. But still — classic!”

The recap from the Dec. 4 episode has now been posted on the Channel Guide website. Here's an excerpt:

But Crystal is wrestling with the thought that perhaps she should vote for Matty — this might indeed be a good chance to get rid of him. She says, “The mental part of this game is kicking my ass.” Just the mental part, huh?

The recap from the Dec. 11 episode has now been posted on the Channel Guide website. Here's an excerpt:

When they return from the reward, Kenny and Crystal inexplicably decide to pick on Matty. They seem to think that Matty has no right to be miffed at Kenny for voting against him, and they say hey, we’ve had our names written down, too (which is true, but Kenny exaggerates the number of times he’s been voted against — he says seven, but it’s only been three. Does he even know anymore when he’s lying?).

The recap from the Dec. 14 finale and reunion show has now been posted on the Channel Guide website. Here's an excerpt:

There's a Crystal-sucks-at-challenges montage. Probst wants proof she was a gold medalist, and she pulls out her medal. She says the challenges in Survivor were hard — "I am built to run around a circle. I'm a runner, a horse, a gazelle." ("A Sasquatch," Randy probably thought.)
