Show Improvements?

I simply can Not miss a week of Survivor. The ONLY show on TV that I feel this way about. But, I would like to see some minor changes to improve the series and hopefully the ratings.

1. I noticed that the most difficult challenges are at the beginning... this system leaves the women at a disadvantage to the men. All the challenges should be designed so that the women have equal chances to win immunity. This season we saw early vote-offs of some of what could have been the most interesting female characters.

2. Rather than one large $Million$ payout to the sole Survivor... how about amending it and give a small amount to each Survivor that wins Immunity from the start of Jury Selection to the end ... maybe $10 - $20K if they make it that far. The bulk would still go to the Final Survivor but this would add a great incentive to hang on until past the middle of the show...causing more fireworks at the beginning and rewarding those that work hard to win immunity.
What are other areas the Members here might suggest for inhancement to improve the Ratings?

Make survivor survivor again?

Make this build shelter--if they build a half-a** one and it leaks, fit it.

Make them get food, if you are to lazy to fish/get fruits/ roots then starve.

As it is today if you do good at camp and challanges you will go home!! Think about that for a minute, people who try to survive can not win the game.

I know some will says--I want the social play, blindsides. I got no problem with that but--we had maybe 13 blindsides in the first 13 seasons, now we have had like 30 in the last 39! I find it a bit hard to believe that isn't due to editing.

If we are reduced to having 7-8 players left in a game due only to tribal switches that save the week, give them food every reward challange because they won't look for any just to get these blindsides EVERY SINGLE week then survivor is done.

Well, think about it. Why would you want the best player to stay on the show, and ruin YOUR chances at a million dollars?
The collapse of old kota seriously shocked me. They had a 6 - 4 advantage on fang, and have managed to now fall behind. That isn't the shows fault, its old kota's fault. Marcus said he didn't want to have to lie or deceive people to get farther, that he doesn't want to change. He clearly lied a lot of the time. He promised Susie top 3, and then tells Crystal that Ken should go, then Susie without a doubt. Marcus is real condescending of himself.

All in all, think about it, anyone whose watched survivor knows the best player doesn't necessarily win. The smartest player wins. Sometimes you need to lay low. But not too low to where you're causing your tribe failure. You need to be likeable and smart, and still be decent at challenges and camp.

havent been around much since the season started...but this season has brought up issues that ive had BIG time...

first off, to those who say its a social game...no. Its not Big Brother, if you wanna do a show thats pure social, please do Big brother. Survivor is a game of survival first (imo), well it was in the first seasons anyways. Anyone remember season 7 when the reward winners would feel guilty for going instead of giving off to rupert? now i know itll NEVER get back to that...but meh...

The one thing that i think hurts this, is the abundance of food rewards, and so many tribal switchs..

how can the survivor having the record of most challenge losses be in a power position? huh?

Forgive me if im wrong, but wasnt survivor supposed to be a mix of survival, challenges and then social. seems to me its pure social now. the contestants get off so easy that they dont have to worry about keeping stronger, good around camp and challenges people.

Ill say this...survivor HAS gotten a little more exciting, but just doesnt seem like the same game to me. seems more of a fabricated TV show then the original reality competition that it was...

My suggestions...

id say 1 maximum...if even 1...tribal switch. Less overgenerous food rewards. My personal favorite is a tropic setting, but thats easily debatable. Seems like they need less food rewards when there are coconuts, fish, octopuses and clams around though. As well, the challenges from those settings seem more interesting too...once again, although this seasons arent bad.

isnt it the largest debate, whats the best season...well mine is cook islands. The survival, tribe merges and ESPECIALLY the challenges seemed to just flow a LOT nicer than sayyyy, this season. meh, just my opinion though

Well, I do agree with you that Crystal has no reason whatsoever to be in the position she's in, besides that she saved Ken once, and Ken has saved her twice. Sugar, Crystal, Susie easily could have been voted off the first few episodes. From speculation, it seems its important to be a real good player at the start, when team-play is still essential, but then you start to get to the merge you think of weak players you know you can beat in a finale, hence crystal, susie, sugar.

Ken and Matty are both great players who deserve to be in the position they're in, you can even argue Susie since she managed to make a fire before anyone else could.. But Fangs failure was because of Fang. When Gillian picked Crystal, Crystal was dumb and picked ANOTHER girl, while kota went for the dominant males.

Ok... Did you people not understand? This thread was for you to propose "improvements" to the Series.. Not chat about who did what. Now... let us know what changes might help the show and improve the ratings.

Who are you? You aren't some producer of the show >_>.

I do find it irritating so many great players left early, but again, there is nothing that can be done about that, since its up to the players to decide who goes. But it would have made for a good final 7 if it were something like Marcus, Charlie, Matty, Ken, Jacquie, Dan, Corinne.

no offense supah...but this is coming from someone who is probably watching survivor for their first time, if im not mistaken?

i for one, have seen every single episode ever...and my suggestions and comments come from all 17 seasons and what ive noticed and disliked combined...


i think any hardcore, old school survivor fan will agree that the old school ways of 0 to 1 tribal switch, none of these crazy ridiculous twists, and babying the contestants so bad that they dont need stronger players anymore has somewhat disinigrated the game...for me anyways.

I hate all the tribal switches and food rewards. I agree they need to go back to the original survivor and work to get their food and shelter. JMO

Hi to all members, I think the way the series are going soon or later they (The castaways ) are gong to be in a 5star resort.

Survivor has to be viewed has close as the real life event.
