When is a blindside not a blindside?

In the first 14 seasons we had like @ 14 real blindsides yet in the last 2 1/2 seasons we have had @ 30 blindsides--whats up with that. I love a good blindside as much as the next person but NOT engineered blindsides.

Example:

Randy said he knew as soon as he pulled the idol it was fake because everyone was laughing yet survivor showed the next 2 minutes of TC of Randy looking total bewildered and blindsided.

Charles and Corrine were told it was one or the other before TC yet we see Charle "totally" shocked at being voted out.

Getting a little sick of EVERY boot being edited as a blindside.

Yeah, it does seem like he likes to throw that word around a lot. Its Jeff P's new catch phrase. Maybe, if he says the magic work enough times they'll get another million viewers???? I think they should be happy with the hard core following that they already have. What is it now? 9 million strong and still the number one in its time slot? We aren't going anywhere. They really should play to us. We keep the show going. Quit trying to make the show better. Its fine just the way it is. What, are they under pressure to bring those numbers up or something?

I agree with both of you. The "blindside" term is much overused. Besides, can there really be a "blindside" at the very first tribal council?

It is too soon for me to determine favorites. But a couple have already made it ot my "Vote them off now!" list.

Carolina was supposedly blindsided but isn't it too early in the game to have a blindside? She wasn't tricked, she simply got voted out for running her mouth, that's all.

Sandy didn't get voted out cuz she busted her ass at the challenge, and Carolina was the next, least liked person.
