Default I have a theory...

So on the reunion, Coach presents Jeff Probst with lie-detector test results regarding several questions that would seem false, yet they come out true. Now, there's always the possibility that Coach could have arranged things just to make the results appear that way, and I'm not saying that's an impossibility, but...

Could it be possible that Coach believes himself so much that even if he says a lie, it would still come out as the truth? I don't know exactly how lie-detectors work, but I think it has something to do with pulse rate, breath control, and a number of other factors, that act differently when lying as opposed to telling the truth. It's possible that, even if he was lying, he could have changed some of his stories so much, and then believed them so much because he believes he is nothing but the truth, that he remains comfortable with his answer and the lie-detector reads him as telling the truth.

Or, he may have really been telling the truth the whole time, but I still find that extremely difficult to believe, even with lie-detector test results. What do you all think?

The real question is, and I agree with everything you said, is:

Do lie detectors work on crazy people?

There is a reason they are not considered legal evidence...
For that exact reason, if you believe your own lies...
There is no doubt Ben Wade has some very strong traits, and he has experienced alot. However, I believe every thing he says is embellished, not just exaggerated, but outwardly intensified.
On top of that the question was very vague, where you captured by amazon natives...
Now the extreme bend would be he saw natives on the shore and paddled away. A more neutral reality might be he was confronted on the shore had a scuffle, got hit on the head VERY HARD, managed to paddled away.
But beaten for days, and them wanting to eat your butt...
I choose to believe the slightly believable middle reality, which could explain alot...
He has a strong will, there is no doubt, but the fact that you can compare him to Cartman, and Kanye West...
Well, you decide...

The examiner Coach used is a known and well documented fraud.
Check this: John Grogan is NOT a Polygraph Examiner - John Leo Grogan - convicted of fraud, PEOA.us -John's Polygraph Association devoid of substance
