Default Entertaining?

That depends on your meaning. I found it entertaining to read all the posts about how much everyone hated him. In fact I was one of them. I disliked him more than any other player to have ever played the game. ( that's saying a lot because I really hated Boston Rob! Awww so sorry to hear Rob and Amber split! Gee who would have predicted that one??????)
I digress. The only truly entertaining thing about him was watching his butt get voted off. I actually feel sorry for the guy for being as delusional as he is. Must be his way of compensating for something. I wonder what that would be? Lack of attention as a child? Mental disorder? Psychological? I hope that instead of blaming everyone for his downfall in life, that he looks within to find his faults and learn to correct them. Don't get me wrong; I'm sure that Survivor embellished a little bit. AT the same time, I'm also sure that they were only using what they had to work with.

Default real people, real events, and a good edit

I think the question is a bit too biased -- as any question would be -- to deserve a simple a b c or d response. I will go ahead and say B if there is some reason beyond "all others must shut up" involved.

My take on Coach is that he played Survivor with a large bit of himself, idealized into a character, in order to provide myself and you all with some fun. Someone like Sierra shows up ... is in my opinion likable but just as delusional (if I am expected to accept HER view of reality) as "Coach". JT was a bit of a character too. Why is it that IIIIIIIIIIIIiiii should decide where to draw a line discerning where the character stops and the real person starts???? Was JT always just being himself? NO! Of course not! He was playing the game too.

One thing I have been saying since early on with Survivor is that the players decide a lot about the game -- who wins, how it is played, the standards etc. I like that, and I get tired of the constant promotion of mediocrity that we get ... just my opinion, but Russell H is a dullard who is quick to overreact emotionally at any perceived slight. By MY standards, he would be out. Immediately. Jaison saw it, and approached Russ on it ... and then gave him a pass. But my point is that Jaison, "Coach", Sierra, or Russell ... THEY decdide in how the game is played and decided. I appreciated the wearing of the Jesus cross, lol, the true pain that "coach" let us know he was feeling, and the story that the editors of Survivor built around his antics. "Coach" made, along with JT and the others, this one of the best seasons for me.

And yeah, he definately was NOT option A! But I think the question kinda misses most of my view of things.

Default my continued case for coach...

Oh man, there are some great ... awesome ... posts on this thread!!!

I was just reading Brian's post, and yeah, I hated Boston Rob too. And yeah, the whole idea of being "delusional" by my standards IS an interesting reality I think many of us experience. I thought Rob played a fear based game, like a frightened child, and while he had a great plan for himself and Gabe, Gabe still voted for Rob -- it was Gabe's only vote. I love that. Again, I really dig the promise that the game can be played however the "players" decide it. It could be said that that focus on mine is part of MY delusional thinking. Dig?

Seirra was delusional in her own way ... lots of people are ... everyone ... everyone dependent upon the perspective from which they are viewed. I kept that in mind while watching "coach" and began to think that HIS story was far more interesting ... albiet crazy ... than many of the other realities going on out there.

LOL ... how about this one... "In what other game does how much you have grown, or how much you overcame, matter" said with disgust by ... was that brandon who said it? And I couldn't help but agree with Stephen on that one ... yeah, he did grow in many ways and had to overcome more than JT and why not use that as a standard by which to judge a winner???

I think all of us carry some ideas which do not fit, and I think too many people got hung up on "how dare he" ... sometimes "how dare he" IS the most salient issue of an otherwise mundane, mediocre, player ... like Russell Hantz ... who, again as a player -- I don't know any of these people -- is a dullard and is more concerned about proving how mediocrity should be elevated (e.g. that manipulating people -- which IS easy, duh -- is something special that he possesses) while he shares his I gonna git you if'n yous wrongded me philosophy. God. THAT routine is lame. Coach was inspired and became a delusional guy who I could enjoy -- the "how dare he be such a so and so" stuff just wasn't nearly as important to me.

What I find really unacceptably delusional is when people who can identify a quality personality trait in another then assume it a given that they possess that trait. "I am a good, fair-minded person" being said without some strong evidence to me is really unacceptably delusional. Being a character on a show where everyone in one way or another is likely just a character is what it is, and I am not interested in following these people after their time on the show to learn their truth -- not that that is a bad thing for anyone else, it just isn't my thing.
