Why did Shambo vote for Russell?

If she voted on who should be next according to the alliance set up w/Russell, she should have voted on Kelly. (because Laura won immunity) Yet, she voted on Russell.

What did voting on Russell gain?

Did she change alliance at the last minute thinking that Russell wouldn't play the idol and she could get rid of his a**? Or did she vote on Russell because...Why?....That's the question. why did she vote for him instead of Kelly?

exactly! galu witnessed 7 votes for russell (which did not count)... that left 4 votes but only required 3 to put out kelly's torch... this leaves galu feeling they have a 6-4 advantage still... but shambo knows even if she voted out the foa foa four...that she would be next to go... so why not take sides with foa foa and make top five...

sooner or later russell will have to start eliminating the foa foa fab four as well...

Yeah. Good question.

Clearly, according to the smarter fans of Survivor, Russell H is a hero and a brilliant player of the game -- perhaps one of the best ever. I have never bought into that, but I am not one of the smarter folk around... maybe he is one of the greatest ever.

However, I don't think Shambo is all that smart either. Us less than types tend to be able to spot each other, and me and Sham got a little thang going on ... cough ... in my own mind, of course. Anyway, being how she is, if she did vote for Russell in order to trick her old tribe, then she did so because Russell told her to do so ... not because of her master plan. imo

IF there could possibly be another reason for her vote, it would likely mean that she believes herself to be in a good position within her old tribe. Heck, they made her leader! She knows that there are divisions within HER tribe, as she shared with Russ, the guys hate Monica. If she stuck with her old tribe, she would get to a better finish ... but then again, she might believe that the outnumbered four person group from Foa Foa -- tempered by the constant threat and danger of eviction ... solidified by a constant threat their last few seconds are being counted down -- will go ahead and agree that Shambo should move from a fifth place finish to a pre-approved spot in front of the jury! They were four, but they will forget all they went through and just agree to love Shambo beyond all else. Sure. Seriously, Shambo very well may believe something along those lines. She's amazing.

Again, I think whatever happens will be interesting but after asking my magic eight ball toy, I firmly believe that there will be no five-five tie.

Why wouldn't she vote for Russell? She knew he was playing the idol. She knew the vote wouldn't count. Russell wanted everyone to vote for him. The more votes for him, the more votes are wasted.

Oh man ... that is even a better question. I can't think of anything.

Why wouldn't she... when you phrase/frame things like that it really makes things clear, and gets rid of some of my need to blah blah blah about it.

It raises one important thing for me ... are we thinking that Shambo thought of voting for Russ herself OR did he tell her it would be a good idea? Again, this is working off of "why wouldn't she..." thinking, which demands that Sham IS thinking at least a little bit OR is a PURE puppet of Russell -- which I am still fighting to resist ... because I am stupid and blinded by my hate? I dunno.

I ask because I do not have a good read on where Shambo thinks she is (the word delusional has been used). She would be a fifth wheel at Foa Foa, but she might think her bond with Russ will lift her higher. She was made leader of her old tribe and has problems with the girls, and should know that the guys share a common goal with her (she shared with Russ that they want Monica out) so I could see her thinking that sticking with the guys would ultimately get her a teeny bit deeper -- perhaps the most clear cut option for Sham. Working both sides would be perfect and this vote went in that direction, but I just don't see her as being that strong of a player to pull it off -- on purpose, I mean she could stumble into something. But again, IF we are thinking that she thought of voting for Russell herself AND did it with the idea that she could fool the guys ... and girls ... on her old tribe, THEN I would have to rethink my opinion of the Shamwow.

sham voted for russell to hide her alliance with russell, i think.

since she's a bit slow she probably doesn't realize that people already know she hates her old tribe.

Shambo has done some dumb things but she isn't stupid. She made a very good point about voting off Kelly instead of Monica and because of this Kelly was voted out.

By Shambo voting for Russell the galu tribe think she's still with them. So the next episode when the galu tribe decides on who to vote out, Shamba can let foa foa know in advance. AND if they know in advance and happen to find the hidden idol AGAIN (lol), the member selected by galu can use the idol - once again blocking all of galus votes.

I doubt Russell will be able to find the idol again so it'll end up in a fire making contest between monica and someone from foa foa. I say Monica because foa foa would be stupid to vote Laura, she would be able to make a fire more quickly then Monica.

im not sure what decides a split vote... it once was who has the most prior votes... they've also used colored stones to break ties...

They haven't done that in a while, the last few times it's been firemaking/burn string. The later is more exciting cause it builds it up more, but you're right maybe this season they have changed it
