The Pause Between Filming and the LIVE Show

I'm curious,
You know on the finale show when the jury does the final vote for the winner and then Jeff "suspensefully" takes the vote and then jumps on a jet-ski or something and travels to the Live CBS Show? There's obviously a long wait between the final tribal council and the Live show, or is really that long? Do the winner find out if they won already before the unveiling of the vote? Is it actually live?

It's live. It takes like 3-4 months or so between the final tribal council and reading the votes to reveal the winner.

I talked with Bob's wife at the final live show during a bathroom break. She was incredibly nervous because she knew it would be close, but she didn't know for sure.

I think season 18 was done filming like in November, maybe? Show starts for us Feb and the final reveal will be in June.

I wonder what it must be like living for four months trying to be patient for the live finale. That has got to be an interesting frame of mind to live in. It would make for a great paper in psy. as a case study of mental stresses.
