Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program
Though Jeff Probst began his TV career at VH1, as host of “Rock & Roll Jeopardy” (1998), and as a correspondent on entertainment news program “Access Hollywood” (1996- ), it wasn't until he was tapped to host Mark Burnett's CBS primetime reality series “Survivor” (2000- ) that he -- and his signature line, "The tribe has spoken" -- became a household name. Over the past decade, Probst has traveled the world and dealt with a variety of unusual castaways season after season. In 2008 Probst won an Emmy in the new category of Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program, beating out his fellow co-hosts and nominees Tom Bergeron, Heidi Klum, Ryan Seacrest, and Howie Mandel.
And the 2009 winner is: Jeff Probst again
