It's not a good idea or a bad idea. If you truly believed in a color blind society, you would view the divisions as arbitrary as the divisions on every other episode. I believe it was childish of you to call for a boycott of the sponsors because the producers made a decision that was just a tiny bit "politically incorrect." Nobody was harmed by their decision. Nobody is going to use this television show as a basis for discrimination against minorities, nor is anyone going to use this show's outcome as a reason for racial violence. Next time you feel such righteous anger towards something that goes contrary to your narrow world view, why don't you stop and ask yourself "Does this really matter?"

You are absolutely right, the bossy people still emerged as well as the lazy ones. Bottom line.......SURVIVOR IS BACK, NO MATTER HOW THE TRIBES WERE SEPERATED ![]() |

My opinion hasn't changed. I personally didn't think it was such a big deal in the first place. I've seen every Survivor and I don't recall seeing strong alliances between race/ethnic background so once there is a merge, I don't think, if there are alliances within a race, that it will be becuz of being the same race, but becuz of the relationship that has formed beforehand. When I first saw the teams, my first thought was, 5 on a team? Uneven numbers of men vs. women. That's where I thought there would be problems, as I've often seen strong alliances form due to sex and age, rather than race. If alliances stay strong within a race, it will becuz of the bonding time, not becuz they are of the same race.

I'd say dividing by race is a GREAT idea -- if you're from the right race. The whites and asians are more or less looking at their shot as 1 in 10, not 1 in 20, or 1 in a million like the nigs are facing. ...and Diva, I think you need to re-watch a few of the past seasons. The racial alliances have been plain to see in all of the previous shows where minorities were in the cast. I think it could be cool to throw some american indians in there, as some others have pointed out hispanic isn't a race so there is their in. It would also make for interesting TV if you comprised their tribe half with hard working live-off-the-land-in-any-weather natives and the other half drunk, glue-sniffing indian reserve dwellers. /TG

When you consider that all past seasons have been predominantly white, I don't call an alliance among white people an alliance based on race, but a racist such as yourself might. I look at last season for example, Cerie and Bobdog did not align. Survivor 10, Ibrehem and Jolanda did not align. Survivor 7, Tijuana and Osten weren't aligned. Survivor 5, Ghandi and Ted didn't align. None of these people were voted out because they were black, green, pink or blue. They were voted out for different reasons, none of them having anything to do with race. The only season I can remember an alliance with minorities is season 4 with Vecepia and Sean.
