overlapping filming in survivor

hi,

in the interview, admin says that there was overlapping between filming of both the seasons? what does that mean? both the seasons were recorded simultaneously? can someone shed some light please

They film but do not show on TV for several months. Survivor China was airing on TV when survivor Micro left to film, so Micro people did not know the outcome of China as only 4 episodes had air. The actually filming of China had been done @ 1-2 months earlier.
