Unfortunately, it appears Erik's move will earn him a spot in Survivor's Hall of Fame. Too bad too, because I was gunning for him for the finals. It is easy for fans to judge a player's poor performance since, we have all the forsight and edited viewing that they lack. It's also easy to call Erik stupid for giving up immunity, but he is, afterall, a young, naive and very impressionable guy desperate for someone he can truly trust in the midst of a sewing circle of devious and evil-minded black widows (and, yes, that includes Amanda) scheming against him because he has the audacity to keep winning immunity and thwart their girl-power plans. Yes, he definitely exercised poor judgement when he should of hung onto that immunity necklace for dear life, but it didn't help being the sole recipient of continuous trash talk in front of the jury by the all b**ch band. Not only did he not have any support in camp, but to also be gang-bashed in front of the jury and possibly lose their favor is a double whammy. Particularly with their not-so-subtle grins - I wanted to b**ch-slap them all. It's not like he did anything that they haven't. Perhaps being in the unedited-for-TV moment and, again, lacking the forsight that we viewers enjoy, he saw his chances slipping away and may have been more amenable to a rash and careless attempt for some sign of hope. Or, maybe he had a brain tumor for breakfast.
Well Erik, best of luck on the other side bud. I'll think of you next time I have a scoop of ice cream. It's probably good that you got out of there before the estrogen volcano erupts. My only quandary now, is how do I sit through the finale, since I despise the remaining contestants (especially Natalie!). At this point I don't care who wins, but I hope the jury puts the finalists through hell!
