Its not Survivor but the sponsors--remember GM dropped out because of Cook Island. Ford did it for 1 season ( Fiji )

Cook Islands was the one divived by race and all the "media" hoopla around it. So GM backed out and never returned.

Its CBS. They can get another sponsor. Whats the problem. I mean if a little show like top chef on the Bravo network can get one why can't a big company like CBS with a higher rated show do it. I mean come on. Couldn't CBS afford a car prize? Are they that broke? Does it have to be a sponsored event? It's good advertising and I'd like to see if anyone will ever be able to break the curse. TRADITION is an important thing in a game. Like in football when they do a half time show or in baseball: the singing of the National Anthem. It wouldn't be the same without those traditions would it? I think they need to go back to the basics that made the show what it was.

Maybe they stopped giving out $50,000 trucks & SUV's because they started giving out $100,000 to most popular each season?

Erik ( micronesia) says survivor stopped giving cars away because NO car company has offered them a car TO GIVE away. With 1/2 survivors fans watching Tivo or from CBS site directly, why advertise on a show when the majority of its viewers are not watching the show that way anymore. ( this applys to most shows now days too )
